Join Jenna in The Whisper Room as we offer our own spin on the infamous Judgment of Paris Tasting held in France in 1976. At this blind tasting 50 years ago, for the first time, California wines were presented alongside fine French wines and took top billing. The results upended the wine world and set California alongside other acclaimed winemaking regions. Jenna will be hosting her own Judgment of Paris tasting to see if, 50 years later, the results are the same. Seats are limited.

We love when we’re able to welcome producers in for Winesday, and we’re thrilled to have some of the best of both Napa Valley and Bordeaux. This Winesday, we’re featuring Cathiard Vineyards from Napa Valley and Château Smith Haut Lafitte from the Pessac-Léognan appellation of Bordeaux. As always, Winesday tastings are casual, running 5 - 7:30. The tasting is $10 at the door or free for wine club members!

Join us as we welcome Brenae Royal of Violet's Paradise to the Virginia market! This casual tasting will run from 5 - 8 pm and feature four wines from her boutique label and a few small bites from our bistro. All of Brenae's fruit comes from the historic vineyard she's worked in for over a decade: Monte Rosso.

A grape of many names and faces, Grenache is like the undersung hero of the collector’s world. It does so much heavy lifting in so many places, often without the high praise it deserves. She’ll take you from the rocky vineyards of Rhone to the old bush vines of Australia and everywhere in between. While we market these as Collector’s Tastings, they are meant for any one who wants to dig deeper into our nerdy world. Seats are limited. $75 per person.

This week is a huge week for us with producer visits, and we’re excited to partner with SAWM Imports to bring you a double header Producer Tasting with the women behind Bodegas Weinert & Lagar de Costa. From the staggering vineyards of Bodegas Weinert in Mendoza to the lush green of Rías Baixas, we’re going to have something for every palate on this tasting. Join us for an informal, but informative tasting with Iduna and Sonia. This tasting runs from 5:30 - 8 pm and is free!

They’re coming to Whisperer to introduce their new line of wines, Botella, to market. Sea Smoke has long been heralded as a premier producer of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Sta. Rita Hills. With long wait lists, magical vineyard sites, and high scores, they’ve quietly cemented their place as a Central Coast California legacy. Botella is their newest range of wines geared toward restaurants, and we’re thrilled to introduce you to it! As always, Winesday tastings are casual, running 5 - 7:30. Daniela Rocca will be making her long awaited debut at Whisperer as she guides you through an intensive tasting of her family’s portfolio. Seated in Ronchi in the heart of Barbaresco, Albino Rocca stands as a benchmark producer of Barbaresco. With vineyards situated throughout the region and the studied and artful hands of the three sisters who run the winery, Albino Rocca produces some of the most artful expressions of Nebbiolo on the planet. Daniela will be guiding you through a tasting of some of their everyday wines and cru Barbaresco offerings. Not to be missed for lovers of Piedmont! $50 per person. Two sessions available.

Pioneering winemaker and founder for her Santa Barbara based boutique winery, Sonja’s goal is to “capture the radical energy of a place formed millions of years ago.” Once she hoped to come up with a solution for world peace, now she seeks to establish peace through each bottle of wine she creates. She’s a firecracker of a human and an absolute force in the cellar. Come meet one of our favorite people and try some of our favorite wines. You definitely won’t regret it. Join us on Sunday, April 26 for a special double header Spanish wine tasting featuring two of our favorite producers: Avinyó & Mesquida Mora. We’ll have wine makers from both acclaimed houses in the building pouring from their portfolio. Tasting is $10 at the door or FREE for wine club members! 

Avinyó Cava is a premier, hand-made, artisanal sparkling wine house which stands in stark contrast to the status quo of the industrial Cava machine. It begins with their location in the Catalan countryside in the remote village of Avinyonet del Penedès, where the Esteve family traces their history to 1597 with the building of their Masia (Catalan farmhouse) named “Can Fontanals”, the traditional family home. Their spirit of innovation and respect for traditions, driven by an undercurrent of constant self-improvement and a relentless drive for quality, are the defining characteristics that set Avinyó Cava apart from others. 

Bàrbara Mesquida Mora established the groundbreaking Mesquida Mora winery in Mallorca in 2012 near the town of Porreres, producing wines in the DO Plà i Llevant and VdlT Mallorca designations in the southern and eastern areas of the island. Bàrbara’s wines form a rich mosaic recalling the diversity of Mallorca varieties while also representing the history of her pioneering winemaking family, with her own unique futuristic vision.
